Miro inspired modern sterling silver earrings
These earrings were inspired by the freeform, abstract shapes found in the art of Spanish modernist/surrealist artist Joan Miró. I cut out the shapes by hand from sterling silver sheet using a jeweler's saw, then domed and curved them for more dimension. They are hung from handmade sterling earwires with a gently curving line to mimic the shape of the dangles. Finally, I have them a matte/brushed finish (earwires have a polished finish).
The dangling shapes measure 5/8" wide (1.5cm) and 1" (2.5cm) high. They hang 1 1/4" (3.5cm) from the top of the earwire to the bottom of the dangle.
